From the Diocesan Communication Desk

The Diocesan Youth Desk arranged a Youth Summer Camp in Murree. More than 100 boys and girls from all the Diocesan Parishes participated in the camp. For more details, please click here.

Diocesan Development and Relief in collaboration with Christian Vocational Training Centre, Mardan arranged a one month Intensive Short Course on Arc and Gas Welding. These trainees were selected from the Diocesan Parishes.

On August 09, 2008 Mr. Azam Khan Hoti, Former Federal Minister, handed out Course Completion Certificates to the twenty-two (22) successful trainees of the Christian Vocational Taining Centre, Mardan.

Diocese of Peshawar is pleased to inform all our friends and well wishers that Dr. Reginaald Zahiruddin, Medical Superintendent of the Mission Hospital Bannu, has safely reunited with his family at Bannu on January 02, 2008. He was abducted on December 8, 2007 along with his driver while on his regular field visit to Dera Ismail Khan. We thank all our friends who prayed, for his safe return, for his family, and the staff of Mission Hospital Bannu. Please continue to remember Dr. Reginaald, his family, the Medical Services extended by the Mission Hospital Bannu, in your prayers, that God continue to shower His Love and Grace through this health ministry of the Diocese of Peshawar in this Province.

The Tenth (10) Triennial Diocesan Council was held held on December 20-21, 2007 at the Diocesan Center. The Council was presided by The Rt. Rev. Mano Rumalshah and was attended by all the Diocesan Parishes and the Head of the Institutes.

The Council approved new officers for the Peshawar Diocese, who will take up their responsibilities from January 01, 2008.

The new officers, who will be serving the Diocese for the next three (03) years are:

Rev. Eric Sarfaraz Walter, Vice President Clergy, Prof. Naved Attaullah, Vice President Laity, Ms. Qamar Javed, Vice President Women and Lt. Col. (Rtd) Kanwal Isaacs, Secretary Finance/Treasurer.

Faith Friend Expansion: The activities
of the Faith Friends have been extended
to other parts of the province. In this
regard, on November 27, an interfaith
seminar was arranged in Nowshera. (For more detail please check the Frontier Newsletter.)

Diocese of Peshawar has commenced the repair and renovation of St. Lukes Church, Abbottabad and St. Mary's Garrison Church, Risalpur.

The Diocesan Church buildings, Clergy houses, Institutional and general Christian buildings were severely damaged by the October 8, 2005 earthquake. We look forward to your prayers and kind contributions to complete this task.

Volunteers required for the Diocesan Institutions, Programs & Projects:
All Christian male, females are welcome to participate in the development and promotion of the Diocesan Sectors, these are: Mission & Ministry, Education, Health, Property, Finance, Development & Relief.
