An Ecumenical Prayer Service was organized at the All Saints Church in Peshawar, Diocese of Peshawar, Church of Pakistan to extend the tribute to the victims of the horrific Easter Sunday in Srilanka. Brothers and Sisters from all faiths – Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and Bahai attended the service to show the solidarity with all those who lost their loved ones. In his sermon, the Church of Pakistan’s Moderator, Bishop Humphrey Sarfaraz Peters, underscored the importance of all faiths uniting against acts of terrorism. The representatives of different Christian denominations also came and prayed for the victims. We extend the heart full of gratitude to Rev. Shahzad Murad (Vicar All Saints Church).
The Diocese of Peshawar, Church of Pakistan stands with victims of the Easter Mass blasts happening at different Churches in Srilanka. Our sincere sympathies are with brothers and sisters in Srilanka who have lost their lives. May God’s endless hope and everlasting Grace be with the victims of the blasts and those who have lost lives for the existence and survival of the Church.
A Peaceful walk was also conducted by the St. John’s Cathedral Church Peshawar, Diocese of Peshawar, Church of Pakistan and the Cathedral Church youth to stand with brothers and sisters of blasts . The Moderator Church of Pakistan, The Most Revd. Humphrey Peters while addressing the peace walk said that Church of Pakistan and The Diocese of Peshawar is standing with the Churches in Srilanka, and innocent people who have lost their lives and loved ones in the brutal bombings.
